Which should you train for first?
Pick based on your background and goal. If you come from lifting, CrossFit or team sport and want a full-body test that rewards strength, start with HYROX. If you love running, want a single clear metric, and enjoy long steady efforts, a half marathon suits you. Many hybrid athletes do both across a year because the aerobic base transfers directly.
Half-marathon training alone will not prepare you for HYROX stations. You will still gas out on wall balls and sleds. HYROX training, however, builds enough running volume to complete a half marathon respectably, though not at your fastest possible time.
