What does each fibre in a blend actually do?

Read a composition label and you are looking at a small division of labour. In a performance blend, the majority fibre does most of the work. Polyester and polyamide provide structure, abrasion resistance and hydrophobic moisture handling, so they wick sweat and dry fast rather than soaking it up.
